Me and Mikey got the 12' Okumas. I used to fish an old fenglass 12' that was great for plugs, but too soft for bait on the bottom.
Close second was an 11' Penn Slammer.
Mikey seems to love his Okuma, I've never used mine. Only place we break them out is at Race Point.
Might be overkill, might not.
However, when the current and wind are ripping and you need 6 oz of lead to hold bottom, they seem to do the trick.
