Why are you changing? I love people asking me where I got a Grateful Dead fishing shirt. Seriously, I think the one you have is super cool, but if I had to vote I would go #2.

Mike - you run a nuts & bolts fishing shop for nuts & bolts semi-hardcore and hardcore anglers. While all these designs are nice (and there are 2 I actually like) they do not express your core shop and your core customers. You are un-frufy and these deigns, while nice, are frufy. I think your designer is trying to apply an artsy flair where an artsy flair is not warranted. If you were catering to the Hamtpons crowd or had a shop in downtown Chatham sandwiched between a Latte shop and a fine antiques store.... well I think you get my meaning.
Again, I like them but I don't think they convey the meaning your shop has to your customers (me being one of them). I would "swoopalize" your bass outline a little more if I were you. Simple, clean, understated, right to the point.

Do you have a picture of the striped bass weathervanes that are on top of the "lighthouses" that are at the "gateway to cape cod"
Every time I go to Wareham, I look at those tin stripers on the top of those two "lighthouses" and think to myself. "cool, I like Wareham"

Ahhhh - That's YOU! Funny thing - is I like that one even more
Like I said in my previous post, I seriously like your work and I'm impressed. I just thought it needed to be less artsy and more edgy. And I do like that last one (I also have a snit eating grin at the moment)

I vote for the "One More Cast" with the
thin, skinny fisherman!
I didm't know it was grateful to be dead. I thought it
was a shot of Bruce when he was thin!

very funny Chet
If it is to be a logo for your site Mike, then in my opinion it needs to be something simple, number 1 is close but not quite.
The last one is different but it's not a nasty bluefish so maybe the scowl doesn't quite fit.

I gotta say I like that logo the best.
The way I see it everybody has this pre-conceived notion that fishing is a sunny day, cooler of brew, glass-like water (not that there's anything wrong with that). But from What I've gotten from the websites and Magazines is that the surf-casting community, as well as some of the boating community, has more of an edge and an attitude to it. I mean its more of Dark nights, slippery rocks, waves smashing the rocks around you. Your not in a comfort zone anymore.
I think this logo conveys that a lot better than the earlier ones.

Mike, I like #4. It is pretty basic and with the picture of the rod, people may associate your fine rod building, rod builing supplies.
