There are two things that I've found helpful in saving $$$ on gas.
1) Shop around. If you find a station that's reasonable, pass the word.
My 2 favorites in the Buzzard's Bay and Cape areas are Hess in Faunce Corner and the place right across the street from M&D's. Usually, they are the cheapest in the area.
Sorry I don't know any places in RI.
2) Get a card that provides rebates on gasoline purchases. The best one I've seen thus far is AAA's Visa program, issued through MBNA. They don't check to see that you're a member - you get an immediate discount at the pump when you buy a certain number of gallons.
