Boga Grip Holder, Revisited
While back there was a thread about how to best holster or carry a Boga Grip. I already have too much crap hanging from my belt, so this morning I just slid them into my waders with the business end clipped to the left shoulder strap. (If you're right-handed.) Worked great. Out of the way and easy to grab with one hand when you need them.
Unfortunately, this morning I didn't need them...

Just remeber not to lift a fish by the mouth with them, unless you plan to keep it. Lifting them by the mouth, like you see in countless pictures, increases the odds of their dying by about 500%!

Thanks. I release all but a couple of fish per season and intend to use the Boga Grip to weigh and release larger stripers, and unhook blues safely. Is there a best way not to injure the fish?

Go,
If you don't want to injure the fish you have to also support it in the middle, instead of just holding it up with the boga on the mouth. Of course you can't weigh it that way. So the short answer is, if you want to weigh it you're better off keeping it.

Oh No, another project!
Thanks for the info. I've always unhooked stripers by hand anyway, so will be sure to only use the BG on keepers.
Hmmm... Wonder if I could rig up some kind of an easy-to-carry sling to support the fish while weighing. I'll let you know.
