What's going on in the Sakonnet river?

Anybody know the story behind the Coast Guard and police searching the Sakonnet between the train bridge and common fence point early this morning? They are still out there...

are those the people who dropped off in the taunton river? there's a story on the front page of www.boston.com about this stuff happening....

I hit the surf late last night and boy was it honking. Wind was strong, temps were dropping fast... all started right after midnight. With the direction of the wind last night and where this vessel was headed....that must have been one heck of a ride. They should have turned back the minute they rounded that corner.

...it finally happened, there are no more secret spots

I hear ya Bloo - I was out last nite on the Island and when the front came thru the wind was blowin' like stink outta the north - it's a shame they were out in that.

Cold water and no PFD's is a lethal combo.
