Ron...there is about an inch of the bolt sticking out of the block. It is in iffy shape though, with all the grabbing I had tried to do....I did get a sense that it wanted to move though. Just don't have anything that can give me the grip I need. I had the vice-grips on there about as tight as anyone could clamp them and they simply slid off!

Pump is off...no timing cover in the way.....the motor is a 318 Chrysler.
