thanks for the advise everyone. i went out yesterday and had a great day. i landed 4 fish and only missed 1 hook up. i used a sliding egg weight above a barrel swivel, a single hook through the nose and bent them to loosen up the spine and they wiggled through the water real nice. all nice size stripers that ranged from 18 lbs to 36 lbs. great day on the water flat calm and sunny great way to start off the season.
