Guys, in defense of any manufacturer that has to ship these type of blanks I need to say that damage can occur in shipping without visible damage to the carton. When they are handled at times they are thrown into and off of the trucks and hit against a wall or some other obstacle. With this type of impact these blanks (or rods) can be compressed to the point where the fibers may be fractured. We have had whole boxes of parts fail after this type of handling and the way that the break looks it is obvious that it is a compression type break.
