Wow thanks for the post guys!! a freind of mine has a tica surf rod. Its a spining and has the rubber thin handle grip, like the cork tape but rubber. He said it was fairly cheap so i will look into that. I was just throwing idea's around with the alvey ST.Croix are awsome rods!!! I was just using one with a nice Calcutta reel Sweeet setup!!!!!!! Its alittle big for my needs though.
