Sorry to say nada from the East Bay, either - Ray (Maddog2020) his wife and little girl were staying at our B&B this weekend, after I left the grub fest I headed back - told Ray I'd take him to one of my favorite spots. By the time I hit the house I was ready for bed but shook it off and headed out.
Man, I'm glad I wasn't the only one who was sleep deprived thinkin' about it now - we all had that 2 week bass-bender look, a little glassy-eyed.
I even had to do a Tim Coleman speedball on the way back on Rt. 1 (that's a large York Peppermint Patty washed down by a large black coffee) named after the retired fish mag editor. Yeah, Tim knows his schtuff. It works, too -
Anyway, promised Ray we'd hit a Newport spot after I got back, hit the Drive in time for the last of incoming, the slack and an hour or so down...nada. NE wind didn't thrill me but I got what I expected which was nothing, zilch, goose-egg. Talk about tired, I tossed and turned for a good 5 seconds when I got into bed at 1 AM. Slept like a baby.
So anyway, the stats from this side of the bay are: no hits, no runs..
But
damn, I haven't slept that well in weeks -
