i was looking a some of the yo-zuri hybrid line has anyone else used this stuff with any luck how does it hold up to rocks

It is tough but it sucks. I found it to kind of spring off my reel causing tangles.

my dad was a big fan of it-very strong stuff-he used to spool his schoolie/albie/bonita rod with 10 lb test and 17 on his big rods. he rarely lost a fish due to breakage and he fished the canal a lot.

I think its one of the best mono lines out there, really strong, thin and holds up well. I didnt have any coiling problems. I used 20-30 pound test.

LOVE it! the only mono i use now. 20# on spinning and 30# on conventional. possibly the most abbrasion resistant line i have ever used. do a search and you'll see this debate has come up a good 20 times in the past year.

Love it! 42 pounder rapped around boulders couldn't sheer the 15# hybrid. Minimal abrasion after a long battle in the rocks...

I think the stuff is great. Fished it hard in the river this spring and haven't lost a fish on it yet do to break offs.

I used it for about 4 years...I think it is good stuff. However, in colder weather, you may have more problems with it. For mono, I tend to go with big game.

Sounds like it'll make great leader material if nothing else.

I used pink Ande for years, so I got sorta used to stiff and wiry

I actually like it a l lot. I swithed to braid (stren super-braid) at the begining of this season and hated that. It frayed after just a coupla uses on the rocky shore, then broke off with a schoolie fish on. I peeled it off and went back to Yo-Zuri Hybrid and have since landed some bigguns with no problemo...

I spooled my 7500 CT with it for plugging the Ditch and really like it. I had to use an albright knot for the shocker though as the uni-knot was pulling through. I don't think it is stiff at all and casts great.

I was going to have my Penn spooled with it a couple of months ago at M&D's...

Instead, I ended up having gone with braid.

I'll need to make another trip down to see Mike.

I've got a reel there I need to pick up as well...

i like it. been using it for 3 yrs. on some of my reels (conv & spin). tough line, casts well, no coiling. only used #15 and #20 lb. i switched from big game and have't looked back.

I have a spool of the 50 lb Hybrid I use for shock leaders.

I used the 12 lb on a Penn 5500SS and have a lot of break offs.

The stuff took such a set its not funny. May be I wound it on too tight and created the curls? I still have that 1200 yd spool - I'll try it again on a conventional next time.

My Father use 6 lb Hybrid on a Fin-nor Megalite 2000 that works fine (use to be mine - gave it to him).

I had 8 lb Hybrid on a Fin-nor ML3000 and straighted a hook on a big fish when I was cupping the spool to try to slow it down when it took off for the open water.

Super strong for the diameter. Tough outer sheathing. Knots well - good stuff.

Trilene XL has never let me down.

Maybe I need to give it another shot in warm weather... in the cold, it sucked...

Been using 30lb AN-40 on sand, braid or big game around rocks....

Used it a bit when it first came out - did not like it. Seemed to break easily and was not as supple as Big Game...

I love it, it is the only line I use now. 20 on spinning and 30 on the squidders. I have got some good fish out of some rocky areas fine.

ihated it. i used yo-zuri hybrid fluro for leader now 20 for small fishes like scups and black seabass, 30-40 for surf species. it sucks in a cold weather. cast lousy. bird nest and tangles on spinner. easier to tie knots on them on hooks or terminal tackles.

I use it down the canal for leader material (40lb) with power pro. works well and holds up nice on the rocks.

hated it. i used it on my penn 5500 spinning reel in the fall, and i found that it tangled after every few casts. i thought it may have been because i didn't have enough tension on the line when retrieving my plugs, so i ran it thru my fingers in order to get it on the spool tighter. that didn't matter. every few casts a giant birds nest would happen on the cast, so i would have to reel it in, and then play with the mess while my plug washed up on the beach.

If been fishing last season with the Yo-Zuri hybrid. Late in the season i noticed the line keeped snapping when I tried to set a hook on a fish when I was chunking bait. It could have been blues snapping my line and not the quality of line. I hate to lose a plug with this line if the quality is poor.
