Thanks guys I'll look into these (i'm down to 2-3 doz live herring, then I have to find something else. I have been using them sparingly. Bluefish are now attacking them
and I will not have these for long. I tried to save a few until the big fish moved in but so did the blues) If I can get fresh bunker I would be a happy guy.
That bait pen worked great!! The trick is not to handle the herring if at all possible. The ones that fell on the ground or flopped around and I picked up died within a couple days. Most of them seem pretty good. A few have a beat up nose from trying to escape but most look pretty lively. Tonight (early tomorrow) I hope to swim a few in the rocks and drag a few thru a few holes.
