Does anyone know what's going on in Jamestown? i guess they passed some BS law the other night where you can only fish in designated fishing areas. Does anyone know where your NOT allowed to fish? many thanks.

If you're below the mean hightide line they can't keep you from fishing. You just might have one hell of a hike to get to a spot but there's nothing new about that.

No idea....

But maybe it's high time to put SOS- RI into action if anyone wants to help - and I know a lot of ya PM'ed me to say you would, like Ben, Bryan, Notaro, and a number of others - I saved all your emails for future reference - but I've been ass over bandbox busy for the last coupla months now to do very much alone.

John offered to help however he could with the site -

So, how about a CoastWatch Forum - like the Conservation Forum - to address the issues and at least make people aware of what's going on - we got a lot of eyes and ears out there now every nite, so this may actually be a great time to do it.

I'd be happy to be a moderator to help - and perhaps Bryan (RIROCKHOUND) could help moderate too - he's an extremely
knowledgable guy with the background to deal with all the related issues.

Ya know, the Clambake Club restrictions in Middletown flew in right under the radar, just like I told JohnR the nite he and I walked into the council meeting in Middletown - and it'll happen again in your community too before you know it. And it'll be done quietly before you know it.

Don't wanna be redundant, but wait'll you guys who fish the Light see what happens in Watch Hill now that that 13 acre parcel was sold to developers - and that's just one spot among a bunch of other areas now at risk.

So, whaddya think - don't you think a CoastWatch Forum would be worthwhile?

It would help us keep abreast of things before it's too late, educate our members on the issues and generally benefit us all in terms of continuing access to the areas we fish -

We can run it by the CO and we'll see what we can get going - with everybody pitching in many hands will make lighter work on an important aspect of what we love - which is being able to get to the water in the first place.

Is there a show of hands?

I'll be happy to moderate when I can, as long as I'm not the sole guy watching since I'm MIA 2-3 days a week in the summer, but I am willing to help with whatever I can given my background etc...
I haven't heard this Jamestown thing, but as long as you get to the shore via public land and are below high tide you are all set legally, but dont push the issue if someone gets really mean, the cops don't like getting dragged out over a silly trespassing case....
Be safe, no spot is worth getting shot over lol...

Thanks for stepping up to the plate -

Crafty, picked up a bunch of garbage lastnight down the beach following the night when the beach was packed with people fishing.
Obviously a good portion was from beach goers but some was from fisherman too.And what kills me is there's a friggin' garbage
can right there!
All its going to take is a few of the more affluent people in my neighborhood to complain and "poof".....guess what no more parking after hours.
Take care of what you got folks. If we don't who will?

Ya know, Norm that realy ****** me off - it's a damned nice little beach and a fun place to fish - and you're right, any more of that and the local landowners will complain - poof, there goes another spot
