Angry Spiders

Last night while geting ready to put on my waders, I found a brown recluse spider IN my pickup truck..It had made a little web underneath my headrest and was just siting on the back of my headrest....
It was black and orange and had that violin pattern on its back just like the one described lurking in Salty's shop

Killed it, but now i'm scared to drive my truck... thre could be more

Are you sure it was a brown recluse spider? I didn't think they were native in New England.

We all know it's stressful to become a father but that doesn't mean you have to get loose with your entomology

They might not be native, but they are around.
I knew a guy (CS knew him too, Bruce MacFarlane, used to own MacSquids) who lived in Orleans that got bit by one a few years back, not fun.

Question

from what i've read...(and i don't like spiders)...they aren't native to this area...think about anything you've had in your truck....something taken up from the southeast? maybe it was a traveler....i don't remember the orange you talk about.....if it is one....fog the interior of the truck with a good fogger ( can be bought at a home center). only disadvantage is you have to clean the windows. then spray something fabreeze to get rid of the rest of the chemical odor....just an idea....good luck.....Jim

bernzy that's one of the sites we found with the exact pic of the spiders we got.....

When it dies which the first one did inside a coffee jar after 2 days, the big bulbous back of it shrivels up into this gooey glob of puss...and man does that thing SMELL inside the jar! The violin pattern was very well defined at first but alot of the colors have turned more brown since it died, almost like it's got dye in it that changed color.

freakin gross. I shiver every time I think of what could have happened with that thing...

I've got a buddy who lives in Nashville, TN and he removed a spider trap from behind his fridge last year when I was visiting there were 30-40 of them in it.

We have them here as well.

Nasty bastiges

spiders?

If you can't use the spider for bait, it ain't good for nuthin

Three-fourths of the Earth's surface is water, and one-fourth is land. It is quite clear that the good Lord intended us to spend triple the amount of time fishing as taking care of the lawn.

Spiders and spider like things are the only things that scare the $%@%@# out of me... I get anxiety attacks sometimes..

I even get a little creeped out by big spider crabs..

Im like feeling it coming on just thinkign about it.
