Very strange....

It used to be listed on the Mass Div of Marine fisheries website, and the saltwater fishing guide that gaffing of striped bass is illegal. I just went on line to check and it is no longer listed in either the guide or the regs? I decided to call the EP's to see if the law was changed, and from what they said it was. You cannot gaff a fish less than 28 inches, and you cannot gaff a fish you intend to release. They did say if it was a legal sized fish you can use a gaff.

Does anyone have a copy of last years saltwater fishing guide? I'm almost positive it was listed in there.

Anything over 30#'s now gets the gaff, this will make life a lot easier:-)

EP's # is (800) 632-8075 if anyone wants to confirm...
