For example, taller people generally make more money than shorter people (this seems to be borne out by numerous surveys.)
There could be legal and social (and thus legislative) repercussions - imagine suing your employer because you think you are being discriminated against because you are short!
Then there is the biological. What is it about our built-in predilection towards tall and good-looking people? (Larry, don't pat yourself on the back just yet, one out of two ain't bad
) Does this bias serve an evolutionary purpose? If we understand what drives that, we learn a little bit more about ourselves as human beings.
