!@#%?&@## Plumbers

Canalratt was over tonight, and we were strapping a hallway ceiling. My plumber showed up to finish tying in a vent in the attic. So I ordered pizza, and it came. My wife, Tony, and I were in the kitchen enjoying some pizza, when all of a sudden there was a thunderous explosion, scared the crap out of the 3 of us. Next thing I know my plunbers leg is hanging through my kitchen ceiling.

He wasn't paying attention, and accidentally stepped through a hole in the attic sub floor that made to fish some romex. Popcorn ceiling is going to be a biotch to fix

Dave if the hole is small enough, buy the metal patches, and compound it, if not square off the hole, and put some strapping behind the edges, cut the new piece to fit , screw it, and compound it.

He is a friend of mine, he took care of me on the labor side. At first we thought it was funny, after we figured out he did'nt hurt himself. But now I know I gotta patch the darn thing, textured ceiling, PITA.

Bill, I'm sorry to laugh, I remember the same thing happened to me, a guy was doing ductwork and his butt crack came through the kitchen ceiling.

Obviously, the contractor arranged for the sheetrock repair, mud, taping and painting at no extra charge.

when I was contractin phone work . we did some work at a hostess plant in NJ . one of the guys was running wire to an office ( plant manager ) in the middle of the plant . while going over the top of the office he missed a rafter and went right through the ceining right above the desk . all you saw was leg hanging out above the desk and the manager who was on the phone . I was outside the office and saw it happen through the windows . we were asked to leave in a not so friendly way . I guess the manager almost had a heart attack . needless to say it was one of the funniest things I have seen in the 25 years Ive been doing this .

that sucks Bill !

It is funny, just when it does'nt happen to you.

We had a young kid doing a job in a condo complex. These were townhouses with only one attic access. So if you were in an end unit you had to walk a ways on the rafters. Well this kid went right through a bedroom ceiling, not just a leg, whole dam body right to the floor. After he shakes off the cobwebs, he walks down stairs, as the elderly resident was caling "Who's there?". So he says phone guy , just working on the lines, be back tomorrow to fix you ceiling. She nearly had a heart attack.

The only thing worse than hiring a plumber . . . is doing it yourself.

My uncle decided he would demo the bathroom on the second floor to "save a few bucks" . . . decided the best way to remove the tub was to break it up with a digging bar . . . yup you guessed it - rammed the bar through the bottom of the tub, through the floor and lost his grip as it sailed through the kitchen ceiling below and blasted a whole in the kitchen counter. Good thing he was "Home Alone" . . . he'll never hear the end of it

A friend of mine was doing the same, except he was using a sledge to break up the tub.... The first whack bounced the sledge off its side and right into toilet bowl Water was shooting all over as it shattered and his wife was preg. in their 1 bathroom house Shoulda seen his face
