Shape wise, I think the bottom two will work best as pencils (I could be wrong though). You usually want pencils tapered so that close to the tail is the widest part. Helps keep the weight towards the tail end. This in turn helps them thrash about like you want from a pencil. Not that you can't get other plugs to thrash like a pencil (I'll work a popper that way sometimes), but if the weight is pulled forward some, it takes more work to get them to trash about. The weight in the tail helps keep them anchored and provides a center point for the pendulum. I.e., allows it to rock back and forth with less effort. It also helps with casting. My 2 cents
