I was at the canal on Wednesday night also. Nobody was catching at the east end so I moved up toward the Sagamore and still saw or caught nothing or even heard a fish. Everyother time I have been there the last couple of weeks there was fish everywhere.

I am going down tonight with some eels. I seem to have the best luck with them down there.

I just ask her to come with me. She will just sit and read and fish a little. I don't know after last week though, I walked a big blue down a little ways and I had her bring me the pliers. Well she took a nice digger and got bruised up. She still is willing to come down tonight so she is a trooper.

Mine will fish occasionally.. but I think she got satisfied a month or so ago when she got her first keeper.

She now knows why I love going and understands.

She will end up just sleepin tonight or something

Skunked on Tuesday night, but I talked to a nice guy with a pretty 24 pounder. Thursday night had a little better luck. 2 shorts and 1 keeper. Both nights there were tons of shorts in close to the bank crashing bait. Jigging seemed most effective, unless you've got eels.

Fished last night Sunday, eeellls. One fish I had to run down the service road it was already 150 yrds down current. As I go closer it headed for the rocks and the damm thing cut the 40lb leader. I don't even want to know what it was.

I went down Saturday morning 4-8 and got all of my eels chopped in half by blues. Right at dawn there was a little surface activity and I threw a 2 oz yellow Gibbs pencil popper into it and got slammed by a nice blue. That was the only fish I landed that morning. Pretty slow.......

Bring your wind breaker.

Tonight

Mostly cloudy. A chance of showers until early morning...then showers likely late. Lows in the lower 50s. North winds 30 to 35 mph with GUSTS UP TO 55 MPH. Chance of rain 70 percent.

In fact, looking out my window......., bring an anchor.

was introduced to the ditch this morning by the Dad Fisherman, thanx DF. Managed a coupla rats on storm shads just before daybreak and one slightly bigger rat on a hunk of herring at slack. Damn that water moves! Watched lotsa folks sacrafice their jigs to the bottom with only a few fish taken (all small) No blues around and we gave up mid-morning when the wind started gusting 30+. Overall not a bad virgin experience. Worth the drive from the N. Shore
