This past August I was in Puerta Aventuras about an hour south of Cancun. The whole coast from Cancun down the Yucatan is a large reef. You can rent Pangas small fishing vesels and go out and fish the reef. I booked a charter for my wife and I on a 40'' sportfisher and had a blast. I caught a 5 1/2 ft. wahoo 50lbs. I also caught a mahi mahi and a bunch of Barracuda. Plenty of bottom fish too. The barracuda are fun on light tackle.

One suggestion do not drink to much tequilla the night before.
