Last fall/winter, I guess the biggest catch we (me or my friends, on one of our boats) got was a 14 pounder, about 3 feet long.
During the season we regularly catch 9 pounders.
I sometimes hear from 20 pounders, but such fish is caught once or twice a year in the area, to give you an idea.
And I remind you that keeper size for European bass is 15 inches, well under 2 pounds.
It also explains why our standard plugs are around/under one ounce (popular one = large excalibur super spook).
But personnally during the fall/winter I'll use bigger ones such as the Cordell Pencil Popper, available in France.
And this year I brought from the US a large bag of stuff, including needlefish (Superstrikes, Gag's, even small Hab's, lucky me !!!), that I'll try in my honeyholes.
Be sure I'll give a feedback, hopefully with pictures, if I'm successful !!!!!!!!!!!!!!
