You can also countersink the wire on the tail section. Drill the hole as usual, then use a larger bit. Allows the loop to slip into the tail section a little. I use this on my jointed swimmers. Note that a little wire showing may not be a bad thing. If you get the wires to close, the tail section can't do its wiggly thing as well
