Twins!!!!
My Wife and I had our twins on Sunday, Jan. 30th....I've been at the hospital since and just got home today. They are the most beautiful possession I have ever seen. Nicole weighed 4 lbs 13 oz. & Ashley weighed 4 lbs. 8 oz. I do however ask for your thoughts and prayers for my little girl Ashley. My wife and I found out, a few months ago, that Ashley's heart was not growing correctly, and that she may need surgery on her heart when she was born. Much to my dismay...the Doctors were correct. Ashley's heart was not as big on the left side as it was on the right side. On Tuesday she had to go through the first of what could be a few surgeries.....she did very well through the surgery, and is in the Intensive Care Unit at Children's Hospital recovering. The Doctors are very pleased at how well she is doing, and now it is a wait and see, to see just how well everything is going, and what will come next. This has been the most emotional week of my life. From the highest high's, to the lowest low's. Having to kiss her before she went into surgery was the hardest thing I have ever done in my life. I Thank You all in advance....she needs all the strength and prayers she can get. Jay

Best thing you can do for your three girls (that means Mom too) is to get your rest now. you will be counted on for much strength in the days and weeks ahead. I say this with the memories of when my twins came home twelve years ago next week. Though I cannot begin to fathom the terror of seeing Ashley head into surgery, nor the angst of future surgeries, I can tell you there is no greater feeling than holding them safely in your arms.
Best to all, be strong.....
Ross

You have been blessed with two Angels. There are others who stand by her side and will always be there, you know who they are. Ask them to watch over her and keep her and her sister safe.

Congratulations and I wish Ashley the best Jay. My daughter's name is Ashley and I have been through similar emotions with my late son, so it is natural that a tear comes to my eye knowing that your little girl is going through this.
Oh, and Nicole is my other daughters middle name! Great choices!
I will be praying for Ashley.

I have twins and when they were born in 1995 one had a problem. He was in intensive care. On the third night of his life, the doctors said they did all they can do and it was up to him to fight and live through the night. He lived through that night and 40 days later he got out of intensive care and I took him home to meet his twin sister. When I signed him out of Yale -New Haven I cut off the wrist identification band that said I was his father that I wore since he was born- that I swore I would not take off until he was home. He is fine now at 9 years old-just deaf in one ear. You can see a picture of him in the Connecticut Surfcasters Assn website under the photo album wearing his waders at the holiday party in December. I am sure that your daughter will be fine. Someday you will look back at these times as special because you had to be strong as the father of a family and everyone was pulling for you. Best Wishes Just believe that she will be healthy.

I want to thank you all for your kind words and support. It really does mean alot to me and my wife. My Ashley is doing very well after her procedure, and seems to be stable. We are by no means out of the woods, but we take each day...day by day. I pray for the day I can bring her home. Thanks and God Bless You All. Jay
