Beginner Lathe Question

Anyone have any good sites that have info for the beginner. Just picked on up recently and gave it a whirl tonight.....it wasn't pretty. Just looking for some basic info on how to use it and the tools......thanx in advance guys.

Looks like PF05 was a big hit.......with a little luck I should have something for PF06.

Feel free to ask questions here too. Plenty of people who can give some good advice that is directly related to plug making.

Adson....thanx again for that link.....I read it this afternoon and went home and gave it a whirl. I actually have a couple that look like plugs.

I didn't realize to check the direction of the grain and I had the tool rest to far back...after I fixed those it was pretty smooth sailing....thanx again guys....this site always has the answers..
