Question snap swivels

i tie a barrel swivel to my main line then my flouro leader and then i tie on a snap swivel which i then attach the lure i'm using. this seems to be much faster in the lure changing process. does anyone else use snaps or do you all tie direct? when i fish i bring about a half dozen already tied this way, that way if the leader gets frayed, i can then unsnap my plug, tie on a new leader at the barrel swivel and then re-snap my plug on. it seems that it would be a pain to re-tie a knot to your plug in the dark or when you tie a palomar, it seems to take too much time trying to get the loop over all of the hooks on that plug plus i seem to get a bit of waste of the flouro. is there an easier way? does anyone tie their leaders direct to their plugs before hand so when you need to change all that needs to be done is to attach your barrel swivel to the main line? thanks

Swivel to Flouro to snap. I also carry about a dozen leaders(lure, eel, teaser) I usually start the nite with as long a leader as I can cast, then just cut back as need arises until too short. Easier and quicker than tying on a new leader, unless a new full leader is needed.

I switched to breakaways this year as well but tie mono on at night for leaders. I don't see any difference between mono and floro at night..

think i'll try:

either:
1. spro swivel--->breakaway-->floro or mono-->breakaway

or

2. breakaway-->spro-->floro or mono-->breakaway

Either way I can change leader or plug without having to tie in the surf. My question is would you tie the Spro(option 1) or breakaway(option 2) to the main line? Thanks gents.

Breakaways work very well. Just need to find a place that sells them in packs of 25 or more.
