The trolling comparison was done @6-8 knots, which is a terrible speed for an outboard, fuel consumption wise, wheras the diesal is barely idling. I'd have to agree with SM though, outboards are becoming less desirable. What will a Verado be worth in a few years when the warranty runs out and it has 600 hours on it? I think they quoted the Ocean Runner engine options as 30,000 with twin 150 yam's, or 24000 with the single cummins. The hull modification for the Cummins was about 4000 extra. Speed at WOT throttle is way overated these days.
