Check out
www.Sakonnetboathouse.com
I bought 2 Wilderness System Yaks from them 3 years ago and love them. System 3 backrest is super. I bought the Pungo 12' 6".
They are having a sale with 20% off Yaks right now.

I believe some outfitters have demo days in the spring. You can try all types and find a style that will work for your needs.
If none of the outfitters have a Demo day, see about renting one for a day or two to see if you like it. Also try out different PFD's and if you can, take a swim in one to see how it handels. They are cut differenly in the arms to allow you to paddle and ride up on you in the water...

We have demo day every day at King Cove. You can try any of our kayaks. We have both new/used/demo yaks in stock. If you wish to fish out of the kayak we will set it up for fishing for you.
Give Nils a call at the shop and chat with him. Also, remember that all S-B mambers get a 10% discount. We will also be at the RISAA show in Providence April 1st to 3rd with a number of kayaks.

Yeah I agree, that's the one I want. I am definitley buying one this spring, just wish I could find a used one. All told you can drop a grand easy brand new with all the accesories, at least it seems like you can.

Bought 2 Wilderness System Yaks, Paddles, Pfds Thule Yak rack for the truck, a rod holder for my Yak and some other stuff I can't remember. Cost me $1600 for everything but that was 3 years ago and the prices my have gone up.

Kayak Fishing Primer
We don't sell the yaks themselves but we do carry a lot of the fishing related accessories. Sea lights, various rod holders, GPS and depth finder mounts, etc. We even install them if you're gun shy about drilling holes in your boat.

I picked up a Malibu Two last fall. Found it at a rental place and the guy wanted to sell off his inventory rather than store it, so I got a decent deal. Its a tandem, but the seats are molded so that it can be used as a single- it holds up to 450lbs, so my demure 260lbs fit pretty comfortably. I had it out once, and transported it in the back of my pickup.
