Im done!!!!!!!
Heard tommorow its going to blow a gale again,Norwest! Terrible! After much debate I have decided to call it quits for big bass,I may still bend the rod for the occasional schoolie but, night time fishing is done for me.
Its been a long season and I have fished an average of 5 days per week since the end of march!! I have had enough,to much to do around the homestead and I just dont have a good "gut" feeling about the nighttime action,There has just been to much time lost to incleament weather and bad timing. The blow this week really hurt us bigtime.Last year the brutes were all but gone on the the mainland of rhode island by november 10th and that was with good conditions.Looks like this year its a week sooner and, yes , that does happen some years.
To echo sandmans statement,I have freinds at the Island this week who wish they were home from what I have heard,I got a call from one of them today who said the island is almost unfishable and not worth the trip out,I almost went there for the week!! Good thing I had a change of heart in sept.I would have been stuck out there!!!
I would say to stick to daytime action now and take what the fish gods give you, small fish.
I just talked to joe flip who said his buddies were killing the fish (from boat) between the subbouy and montauk, fish up to 47lbs again, bad news, those fish aint coming back.
In the imortal words of the sandman."Im cleaning out the truck"!! Those are sad words!! but true im afraid,I will wait to catch schoolies in the spring,Its just to raw to catch 18inch fish now!!
For those of you still giving it hell,Good luck and god speed!!!!

The fat lady has sung and as they say; all good things must come to an end. If your'e list of things to do around the house is as long as mine, then you won't have time to get it all done before the return run in the spring.
I still plan on doing some freshwater bass/pickeral fishing until the ramps ice up and if we get some nice weather, maybe a cod trip or two. If I could only hit the lottery, I'd spend my winter in the Keys and keep that line tight all winter long.
Tight lines.

I know jeff but, There not here!! I just cant run all over creation chasing them.I guess its CT's turn for the brutes this year.
I would come down but,I need a "guide" If your willing I may come down there for my swan song!!!! Its a spot im not familiar with and I just dont want to take a two hour ride, stumble around in the dark to find the right spot and, generally go on a goose chase.
But, again, rhody sucks right now after dark.

Several things,
First off, I'm glad I bought my house a year after the #^^^^^^& as I'm hoping to do some similar home improvements/upgrades/honeydooze, he'll do 'em fisrt making it easier for me ;D ... ...note to self, borrow Bill's Binford 2000 combination leaf blower/pest control device to blow the leaves and grass seed off my new dirt, er-uh lawn... (BTW Bill, I need to cut one more 1/4" section to go under the floor in the kitchen) The wife and I were not in the NEW house for one week when it became obvious that demo of one wall was necessary to open the fridger door... If you ever want to meet the King of the Sawzall, Bill aka E#^^^^^^& or Sawzallman is your guy :P
Fishing; THIS WEATHER MAKES A GREAT S#^^^^^&G SOUND!! I'd like to get out once or twice more at night but the weather aint cooperating!!! Maybe once more before the once a month pilgramige to the Thames on Schoolie's boat.... 'Course, there is CT }> Bill, I know two spots down there (certainly not as nice as the "long walk"

John, stop talking about sawzall's Im getting very exited "me likie sawzall's" Great tool.
As much as it sounds like work, I acually like home projects, keeps me busy and I learn alot in the process.Once my daughter is in school I will be starting a small handyman/landscape buisness for anyone interested!! Im great at ripping walls down!!
John, did you paint the wall yet??? BTW,If you put another piece of plywood in there is going to be to high, The other thing you should do is try paint stirir's or popsicle sticks so that it wont be to high.Dont use screws, use liquid nails (I have tons of the stuff).
Anyway,my leaves are almost done! We will tackle yours this week!!
