Looking for some Music
I figured I'd throw this out to you guys for some suggestions.
Every year I do a Slideshow presentation for the Cub Scouts. I usually use a few songs as background to a bunch of pics that were taken over the year. I'm trying to find some good songs that kind of embody either Father/Son, Friendship, or Life.
Figured you guys might have some ideas to some good music.
Right now I got:
Cats in the Cradle - Harry Chapin
Good Riddance - Greenday ( I know not the greatest title for kids but still a very good song)
Over the Rainbow - Isreal Kamakawiwo'ole
You got a Friend in Me (Toy Story) - Randy Newman
Simple Man - ShineDown
Just looking for a couple of more. Any suggestions are Appreciated....thanx

I don't know how you'd get it, most won't even remember it, but how about the theme song to the show, "The Courtship of Eddie's Father"? Other than that, Eye of the Tiger is sort of good background music.

The Courtship of Eddies Father might work....get some nostalgia going.
G2 I don't consider it dark I think it has a very strong message about spending time w/ your kids now because the years go by fast.
I don't think I've heard that one by Jimmy Buffet, I'm gonna see if I can download it and check it out

Another Buffett one that would apply... The Captain and the Kid.
Actually, go through all of his songs, loose the Margaritaville and Cheeseburger songs, the Get Drunk and Screw stuff, I'm talking the deeper stuff, he's got some good thoughts in most of the other stuff... not that theres anything wrong with the Drunken Caribbean Rock and Roll stuff
Island... another good tune, and A Pirate looks at Forty, should be my theme song........200 years too late.

When I crossed over from Webelos to Boy Scouts, they had "Break on Through" from the doors playin in the background.
When I got my Eagle, they had that crappy sappy song"If I could fly higher than an Eagle" playing in the backround for about 13 seconds till I made them turn it off.

My den is crossing over from Webelos to Boy Scouts next week. Simple Man and Good Riddance are the songs I'm using for their portion of the presentation.
A Lot of good choices coming in from you guys. I was thinking Jim Croce's I got a Name.
Old Man we used last year and I'm trying to get some different songs in.
