From what I have read, fish that size are not that productive in terms of ripe eggs. As these fish get older they have more eggs but most of them are not ripe and will not make it. Just like a big old fat 70 yo grandma can pumpem out like she use to. a 20 year old bass can't either.

Again, from what i have read, the most productive size fish are in the mid-20# class.
