i have to agree a bit. i tried to get into a conversation w/ him but 2 other clowns jus wanted to feel proud talking to the guy for 25 minutes. finally i was able to get in there for a couple minutes. he answerd my questions, added too much other info i didn't care about, and did seem pretty arrogant. i did pretty much want to b-slap him to get him off his high horse.

i do not want to start another vs tread here, but i still have yet to see something compare to it. some are switching to the saltiga's, but i need to see that reel after 3-4 seasons in some hard conditions. i want to see how their service will be and how their reel reel stands up. it looks tough now, but talk to me in a few years.

it was a great show and kudo's to river's end for another great one. better than last year's.

habs, are you sure you are not missing any plugs???

So are we usin the saltiga's now. What size 4500 or 5000.JP likes the 5000 wit the gt spool.but their seems to be some discrepency on the size.JP need 300 yds of 50lb braid.I guess i like the same size reel as I am a 706 guy.but i might consider one for the canal an some wet suitin.I'm gonna wait a little to see how they hold up an I would like to hold one.before i buy it.the weight doesn't bother me so much.

NIB, you should have stopped in. I was there just before 8 am, and he was there. We put on a pot of coffee and talked for a while before the crowds showed up.

As an aside - I had a good time there. Watched Pat rig up an eel. I had an appointment at around 12 and thought all the Habs would be sold out by time I got there so I called River's Edge and they (thanks Mark!) were nice enough to put a bunch aside for me. I ended up putting a few back on the shelves. Great guys there!

At msba I stoped at the vs booth and spoke with Craig, I thought he was polite and kept it a conversation, yeah he made sure I knew the used reel had caught big #'s and how his grounds where Montauk, whatever. At this point I don't need a VS rep to sell me a reel, memebers on the site have done that. Egoahole proably started fishin two years ago.

Same thing, I spoke with Craig at MSBA show this weekend. He was responsive to some issues I had with one of my reels. Said he would take care of it for me. Proof will be in the pudding if he follows through. Same old thread you either love them or hate them.
