Im liking the help me hank approach. if you go to them and get some publicity i would bet ya hanful of plugs some lawyer will represent ya for free just to get the publicity and to do the right thing. Im sure that you would win in court without a lawyer but this issue needs to be heard a little bit more than just this website. It sets a nasty precedent for our youth, it is encouraging them to not be honest upstanding members of society. People will just look at the wallet and not touch it till a cop shows up for fear of arrest for doing the right thing, im sure all your kids buddies wouldnt touch a found wallet with a 10 foot pole now.

4 frickin' pretrial hearings later...
The cops showed they're evidence...2 hours of Stop & Shop survelance video of f%$^#!! nothing. Blank frickin' video!!!
This is a joke and a waste of time. The problem is that it cost the PD nothing to do this...It's the taxpayers $$$ wasted and my kid is missing classes. Now he has to go to F$#@&! trial...I'm getting really pissed. If you ever find a wallet, purse or whatever..kick it in the storm drain, I know I will.
I am thinking of telling this story to a certain radio talk show host... I'm ready to move...

call that media guy....the case will be dismissed for lack of evidence and then sue that police department.....and with all the media attention they will be forced to settle out of court.

I have heard several similar stories lately....just yesterday on the radio, someone found a wallet with 1000 dollars in it and turned it in...owner claimed there was 3000 dollars in it and is pressing charges!!!!

Now I ask you...why would someone only take 2000 of 3000 dollars and return the wallet???

If I was going to take the money I would have kept it all and said nothing!!!

I will never turn in a wallet again after hearing all of these stories......I have turned in several over the years but no more!!!! Lose it you are out of luck!

Believe me, this kid would tell me if he took the $$$$
The cop that arrested him is a real jackass, he gave me a hard time when I was asking him about the incedent..I thought he was gonna charge me for asking a question...Wouldn't have suprised me.
