I'm permanently scarred by the April Fools' snowstorm back in the 90's. Until at least late April I always keep the snow shovel handy...

I was clamming in the Pamet one May and it was snowing. That year was the first since 1949 that the Bay froze. Thought that Winter would never die.

I remember it well, living in Pawtucket and working at Stop&Shop. The trees were in full bloom and the weight of the snow snapped limbs and took down a bunch of powerlines. The market lost power, and they called us in to work in the middle of the night to try to save all the frozen food and dairy. Laid a bunch of sheet metal over the freezers (they were open in those days) but still lost thousands in product

Karl, I still have my snow brush in the Jeep and both shovels and the push broom on the back deck -
That year we had the May 10th snow I'd been living in Florida all winter and didn't come back to RI until May 6th so I wouldn't have to see snow...
