I am sorry to hear that Mike. I was just looking at the medium bag on your site last week and thinking of ordering one as a birthday present to myself. Mine is today. By the way Happy Birthday Specialist!

I was considering the medium Aquaskinz surfbag even though I can purchase two Canyon surf bags for the price of one Aquaskinz's at M&D's.

Now that M&Ds' sold out of the medium Aquaskinz surfbag, it is not even a consideration because I can purchase three Canyon surfbags for the price of one Aquaskinz at the retail price set at other shops.
Talk about price fixing.

Canyon Bag # 1 ========> Day fishing
Canyon Bag # 2 ========> Nite fishing
Canyon BAG # 3 ========> Other

Happy Birthday.

Happy be-lated BD Specialist!! Hope you enjoy your BD present

Victor,

This isn't a case of price fixing but a matter of price protecting. Most manufacturers give retailers a range to work within and we were/are no different.

What this does for the buyer is assures them that the prices will be stable and will be more or less the same wherever they buy from. If M&D's was $20.00 more expensive, rather than cheaper, we wouldn't be having the same conversation.

Plus, it wasn't our decision that M&D's stop carrying the bags, it was theirs. All we asked was that they make the adjustment and be in line with everyone else.

As for buying 3 canyon bags to 1 Aquaskinz bag, you get what you pay for and it will take 3 canyon bags to do what one AquaSkinz bag can & will do. Compare the features and quality for yourself, they are on different ends of the spectrum.

Thanks for considering it nontheless and thanks to those that support AquaSkinz with your purchases.

Regards and tight lines!!

Kadir

I don't understand why Mike can not sell his products for the price he see's fit. At my liquor store we have always been $2.00 cheaper than most. Why because that is the way we do buisness. We are always looking out for the consumer. We feel that is what has made our store very successful with a strong clientel.

I did buy two Aquaskins bag from Mike, one for myself and one for a friend. Love the quality of their products, but I bought them from M&D's because he had a better price. He is that way on all his products.

Kadir:

I respect your point of view and acknowledge the fact that your products are designed and manufactered with high quality standards.

I do not understand who your truely price protecting, the customer or the stores.

I would think that a manufacturer's concern would be profit regardless of what price the stores sell the products. If there is a store that can sell 50x more items then any other store, then your profit will increase that same amount at the expense of that particular store receiving less profit.

It appears that a manufacturer would be price protecting (price fixing) the stores instead of having the stores offering price protection for the customers. (An example of price protection as most stores carry just to maintain a customer would be a store that will match the price of any other store.)

Yours truely
