i would soak the guides with WD-40 and wipe away Thoroughly. also wash your rod including your guides with fresh water after fishing Thoroughly. wipe you guides after fishing with a wet facecloth to prevent rust

LArry...you seem to only have two options here....

1...Stop soting your rods outside...could be acid rain cxausing sorrosion

2...Stop purcasing Zebco "Snoopy Series" Equipment and splurge on at least a Tica

I had the same issues back in the day. I fixed it for good by adding a light coat of epoxy around the metal frames on the guides.
