Do Stripers Live in Alaska Waters?

Hi Sharon,

To my knowledge Stripers on the West coast don't travel much farther up the coast than the San Pablo Bay area (which is just north of San Francisco). In the late 50's early 60's we used to catch Stripers in the Napa River, Napa Valley area. In those days the Napa River Valley was not much more than the Napa River, grape vinyards and Rattlesnakes. Wow that brings back memories. I was lucky, had a father that loved fishing and took me fishing almost every weekend durning the season. Even back then the Stripers on the West coast were so fished out that a lenght limit, bag limit and season was put on Stripers.

Really goes to show - Take a kid fishing - keep him off drugs.

On the East coast Stripers don't travel too much much farther that the upper Casco Bay Area (which is North of Portland, ME.)

Sorry but if you want to catch Striper on the West coast you're going to have to travel to San Franciso Bay Area or the Colorado River for fresh water Stripers.
