Saltwater Edge
Just want to give props to Pete. I went down there to browse at some light setups with the expectation of window shopping St Croix's etc because of the price. Pete pointed me towards an inexpensive Shimano rod and suggested an inexpensive Shimano reel over the Stradic.
Put everything together and all I have to say is that it's awesome!
The rod is rated 3/8-1oz, is 7', and has a fast lightweight tip but enough backbone to deal properly with the only fish it's caught yet-a 24" stripper. Look out hardtails!

although once primarily a fly shop, they are far from just that now. their inventory of tackle for surf and boat anglers is impressive. custom lures, bombers, pt jude's, foul weather gear, vs reels, saltiga's, and even crafty's pictures! full guide service. no too bad.
pete, near side, coming...2 wide. i luv summer...

Yeah, it's a great shop with an incredible selection - I was down there Thursday and I couldn't believe the inventory. If they don't have it, you don't need it.
They even had that life-sized cardboard cut-out of Iron Mike holding a Budweiser...
Say, wait a minute, I think it was Iron Mike

Thanks for the guys!
More inventory is about to arrive; Habs, Beachmaster Atom Jr's, TroubleMaker Surfsters, and Fixter Pencils, in addition to the recent deliveries of Salty, Afterhours, Gags, and some new stuff from PJ Joe. Working on some custom colors from Super Strike plus bone and other rare colors of Redfins and Bombers. Also, the biggest Spook you have ever seen... 9" and ridicuously easy to make "walk the dog". If you could actually throw it on a 1 ounce rod, you could make it walk with it.
The tautog were out in force yesterday Dave. Warmer water temps always bring them out of hiding...

I couldn't agree with you guys more. I've been going in there on a weekly basis for the last 6 weeks or so. I'm new to saltwater fishing, but not to fishing. Not only Pete, but all the rest of the guys who work there have been above board gracious with suggestions tips and encouragment. It's amazing what you can learn there not only from the staff but also the customers. They talk Fish there, it's a good place to visit. Prices are fair and with Fathers day coming up a gift certificate could be very nice indeed. Think about it, just how many golf shirts do you need compared to say, plugs? As to when Pete takes time off, I couldn't say, but I do know when he eats lunch. 2 or so the afternoon, you can usually find him chowing down.
