They are damn fast though, good turn around time and the cheaper price usually offsets the shipping; I have port supply at west BTW and use it often, but the lil woman's dad works at Defender, so I need to plug it when possible...

The best is their big warehouse sale in the spring. I got some insane deals there this year.

I have been using Defender for years.
However, get this. A few years back on a rainy day I took a ride to the cape to buy a rule washdown pump for the boat. Called ahead of time to see they had in stock and would match competitiors price. Well, I brought the Defender catalog in and the price was like $119 to Wests $179. The store manager was sh*tting, called denfender to ask. The deal was good. but the bastage charged me the would be freight from NY to my house. I still saved $40 bucks.
Hamilton Marine in Maine is great too. Lately I have been using them.

Go to the boat shows for electronics.
They'll undercut any catalogue price you can find just so they don't have to drag the crap home with them.

I am going to have to try this...Defender has very good prices on most things. The difference on 600' of line is huge compared to what they get locally. THe west guys said he would match prices. We'll see.
