Adding too many forums isn't necessarily a good thing. I say that because then you spread out people and threads sometimes don't clearly fit nicely into the "boating" or "surf casting" niche. I also think that surf guys can learn from boat guys and boat guys can learn from surf guys, plus I enjoy reading about multiple approaches to numerous species. If anything, you might want to consider a freshwater forum, if there are some guys lurking about that fish sweetwater as well.

Maybe a little more in the way of instructional stuff. Steve's got the reel maintanance, others can contribute on rod building, plug making, certain specific presentations, boat care, the list would be endless as far as that is concerned. Develop a striped-bass library of sorts. Be nice to maybe catalog certain threads that develop as part of that library, if they are important and likely to come up over and over again.

I'm not sure you want to get crazy, because it would be a shame to loose that cozy feeling we have right now, but I know change is like taxes...can't be avoided.
