In the past, first week on may seems to be the month keepers start showing. I've done well throwin 1 1/4 Atoms (white) or the simular size creek chub in (yellow/red head). Right now and for a number of years I've found that "Gill Rackers" (fresh water bait) is the deadliest thing on the schoolies. I bite off 1 inch of the head and rig it on a 1/4 oz jig. METAL?? small mega bait, silver W/ black back, kicks buttox....but never tried early season....I,ll give it a shot this year.
