What will you be getting for Father's Day?
Our fishing column this week had the line "There is no need to shop for a tie when dad is a fisherman. Getting another black swimming plug is not the same as receiving another yellow tie."
How true! I could *ALWAYS* use another black swimming plug regardless of how many I have.
I will be asking to get a new shimnano fluke rod (just for me). I usually rig everyones favorite rod and tend to use whatever is not picked over...hence I get the heaviest rig. It's time Dad gets an upscale fluke stick (and a hug from my kids.)
What will you be getting?

Gave my wife my West marine advantage card, a west marine gift certificate for 50 bucks, my credit card, and a slip of paper which read.......ICOM M302 VHF radio in white or gray if no white...
Then I thank my kids for the well thought out gift..
But its OK, cause I am fed up with the POC SMR radio I have.....its going in the trash.

Mix together kosher salt, black pepper, red pepper, sugar, minced garlic and porcini muchroom powder (make your own) with enough olive oil to form a paste. Rub it all over your rib eye and wrap in plastic for 24 hours. Wipe off the rub and grill over high heat till rare.
You won't be dissapointed

Definitely not corny, Professor. It's those simple, intangeable things that usually mean more than any gift. Fortunately, at 9 and 15, my girls still call me daddy (though often with the 15 year old, "daddy" is usually followed by a request for money or a ride somewhere). What I also like is my 9 year old on any special occasion will get up early, completely clean off the table of the week's mail, news and school papers, junk, etc, and set out her homemade cards (you know, the ones with homemade coupons inside for one carwash or cleaning her room or not fighting with her sister). And then she attempts to make a pot of coffee and waits patiently for my "Now honey, that's good coffee," (no matter how strong or weak it is) after I pour a cup.
