Nothing like salmon fishing Alaska....I am fortunate enough to do it EVERY summer......

If it is on the line, not a seperate rigger - I think they are called dodgers - they are used on Lake Ontario as well. Usually with Prism tape, they are flash and simulate a school of bait.

Dodgers = flashers (same thing)
Planer boards are different - they are sometimes called dipsy-doodles.....keeps your trolled line at a certain depth.
