Months of May and June

The season started out slow for me personally, and has only gotten slower. I suck, or maybe my best spots have been devoid of fish as they have changed dramatically (been filled in by winter storms) Different threads have some good reports, others share my lack of fish. I can't believe it when I am typing this, one schoolie for the month of June..... Might just have to get some herring (fresh) and give bait fishing a whirl for awhile and rest the pluggage a bit. Making log entries and reviewing past years' logs makes me wanna puke.
So how was your month? (Bombas need not reply }

prior to July 1st... Id say with one or two nights exceptions, much slower than usual.

After last night.. right back on track....

but the people having the slow seasons seem to be the vast minority...

Ross,

I've had similar results at the spot your talking about. I've gotten a few fish here and there but nothing like last year. I think its all the sand and gravel that's covering up what used to be a beautiful rocky bottom. I got a small keeper after you left the other night but that was the only hit I got in about 4 hours. For a while, down the street from there was producing very well but only for about 1 hr per night. Got my personal best at the beginning of June, but that has gradually slowed down to nothing over the past two weeks. I'll be out this weekend trying to turn things around but I'm not too optumistic at this point. Hopefully things will start to heat up as we move into summer, August was the best month for me out there last year.

Been doing decent, very few skunks and most of those were just last week. I am getting dejected though because I still haven't gotten one on my home-mades, but other than that so far its been a pretty good season......knock on wood.

Hey, Rosco, maybe the White Man has put a jinx on you until you pick up the console for the Whaler -

Actually, I saw Whitey a coupla weeks ago and he said he was gonna start charging storage soon - he was just kidding (I think) -

Give him a call, he said it's ready to roll - and let me know if you're coming down this way -

Overall I'd have to say it's been slow. I have had my share of good fish but nothing over 21#. I've fish a lot!!! I haven't totaled up the days yet but I'm over 50. I have found fish in places I never got good fish and found no fish in all the usual spots. Just a weird Spring.

No boat, back in the suds.
