I didn't want to discourage Plum from asking questions. I don't think #^&#^&#^&#^&#^&#^& wanted that either. I'm sorry if I did sound like I was discouraging questions. I was just trying to steer the guy to a better way of fishing.

I don't think its wrong to finally say ....Sorry but there is no good way to get that 1 OZ jig to be a 3 OZ jig.... Do you do anybody any good to just say , sure , buddy , good idea , go fish your jigs the wrong way forever???

I understood better what his dilemna was when he posted that that's all he has is 1 inch jigs.

3 waying The Humps!! Capt Don would always talk about that back when he had his store. That's a totally different technique and has nothing to do with putting egg sinkers on to get a jig down. Sure the extra weight gets the eel or jig down when 3 waying but the real beauty of 3 waying is to control the depth at which the lure or bait is trolled by adjusting the length of the lead going down to your bottom finder sinker. Its not just to get it down.

Anyway , perhaps I should have answered Plum more gently. I guess at that point I was more concerned with helping him fish correctly than being gentle. I should be able to do both. Sorry Plum.
