I'm with you bigfish. Unfortunately since the dawn of time people have used religion to control people and manipulate them. Sucks.. totally sucks

Agreed.....religion is an easy target for people to manipulate - or to use as an excuse for any behavior they so desire.

Funny - isn't it - that the leaders who tell these fanatics to go commit a suicide bombing in the name of Allah never strap on a dynamite vest of their own.....how gullible can these people be when even their OWN leaders wont do what they are telling their followers to do.

Makes me think of corporate America. How many jerk bosses have you worked for that asked you to do something that you didn't feel comfortable doing because they didn't want to do it.....and did you do it, or did you refuse to do it because you saw through them?

Lets not turn this into a religion bashing experience. Terrorism at its root has been when people of an ideology; whether religous or political or commercial, is conducted by relatively small "fringe" groups in the name of that religous or political or commercial bend. The european terrorists of the 70s and 80s did not base their terror on religion, but ideology. These radical muslims create terror in the name of religion but it is their ideology that they are trying to advance thru terrorism. The drug lords that conduct terror in various countries do so in political and commercial ideology, having little or nothing to do with religion.

Some people just want to kill or are mentaly effed up and do so in the name of religion.

Agreed....but in this case they ARE using religion as their excuse, so THEY made religion the issue.....not us.

Frankly, I beleive ideology is a fancy way of saying "mask"....all WARS come down to money....the "have nots" rising up to try to grab what the "haves" got.....that is all Al-Quada wants....to no longer have to live in tents but to have houses like the rest of us. It all comes down to power, and as everyone knows in this world we have created - money is power. The leaders know this, so they use reigion as a way to get the common foot soldier so enraged at the enemy.....the use of religion (or any "ideology") is nothing more then a propaganda ploy on their own people.
