lost 3 in a row two weeks ago.. they all pulled the knit one pearl two... on me in a boulder field with ultra high salinity, I was fishing braid..
I didnt get to see any of 'em so I'm telling myself that they were really big smart scup.....

BW, maybe picking up a lip gripper/ boga or otherwise may help? Maybe even a small hand gaff, you just hafta be ultra cafeful if you plan on lettin em go It hurts when ya lose them.
