It's entirely possible that I'm stretching the truth a wee bit

I'm still driving the truck as much as usual and fishing probably more than ever. But what I have done is borrow/stay at friends homes near the ocean and basically get to stay there for free instead of paying for hotels like I've done in the past. Either way, gas prices bite but I shouldn't complain too much, my Dad in Canada is paying $4.00 per gallon

When I drive my fishmobile, it takes a half a tank to get to the Cape and back -- 3 hours round trip. So there's $12. Some days I wish I had a bigger car, but the gas mileage rocks on my little Escort. Adding up the fast food and gas station snacks and new toys from the tackle shop, I'd say I spend under $50 per trip. I wouldn't be too upset if it costed more, though. Money is no object to me, as long as I can pay my bills.

The worst day fishing is better than the best day working. ...Wait a minute, my work IS fishing. Sweet.

I paid $3.15 a gal at Brewers Marine in Plymouth last Sun. for gas in my boat,
The most i have ever paid for gas in my life!!!
But i got a good up close veiw of the Mayflower and Plymouth rock while I filled up!!!
If memory serves me, gas was around 85 cents when I first got my drivers lic.
I miss those days of spending $5 bucks to fill the tank in my car!!!

While I will admit that gas is through the roof right now.....with the amount of money that I spend on plugs, lathes, drill presses.ect..ect....and the amount of fish that I have NOT caught....I would drive as far as I need to catch some fish.....but that's just me....I'm starting to doubt myself...don't think I could catch a decent fish no matter where I was fishing.

He's almost 1 its time he learned to fend for himself......I don't buy that whole "can't walk, can't talk, can't take care of myself thing" anyways.

Ive cut down a wee bit... but my longest trip is usually only the canal... If I go anywhere else I am car/truckpooling, so it hasnt been that bad.
