I don't drink. I don't smoke. I don't gamble. I don't chase women except the one I've been married to for 37 years. So I spend a few bucks more on gas. I get 20 miles to the gallon. it's a 110 mile round trip to Narrangansett.
So let's see: 5.5 gallons per trip X $2.00 per gallon last year = $11.00 per trip
5.5 gallons per trip X $2.50 per gallon this year = $13.75 per trip
So it cost me $2.75 more per trip this year than last. I fish about 5 nights a week X $2.75 more per week = $13.75. I am sure that a sixpack must cost about that. Since I don't drink so that's my beer money.

No boat, back in the suds.

woah. i have been on here [s-b.com] quite a bit over the past year, and from reading your posts, I would have bet $100 that you were from 'gansett by the amount you fish there. or no farther than warwick. wow. impressive.

Thanks Zacs. I actually live just about as far from Narragansett as you can and still be in RI. I live in Burrillville.

i also do a 100 mile round trip each time. this is really my first year driving, fishing for trout was cool, i could fish 7 days a week without a refill.

its now 1/2 a tank per trip. its killing me.
and mostly just schoolies....UGH.

live to fish. fish to live. rod tips high.

It's not just the gas for fishing. I drive 400 miles a week b4 fishing and a trip to MeNHMa doubles that so gas is costing me fishing time period.
