I've been going to the outer cape just about every weekend since May (except last weekend). To RP and back costs me about 45 bux. That and the 80 I was spending when I was working in Kingston got really expensive. Working 1- 1/2 miles from home now has been a blessing. The trips to the outer cape will be easier.

I still lug 34 Gal at a time from the self serve at 2.36 instead of the Marinas at $3+.......Lately the boat is costing me about $100 a day for a trip far away. :ast year it cost me $57 to fill my 5 gas jugs. Now it is $81. That is a pretty good jump.

Ronnie,

Unfortunately it is gas. Someday, maybe someday when it gives up the ghost I'll repower with diesel, but she's running like pissa. But hopefully by then I'll be in something I like more if the price is right. Yanmar makes that 4 cyl 240 HP for 17K sure would be a nice fit for that boat but the word "Yanmar" doesn't always impress me. Too many stories of dropped valves etc. we'll see.

Fuel prices have definitely put a damper on my fishing this year. Used to run to Monomoy in the boat and not give it a thought, this year, I ahven't been once. My wife and I are doing lots of fluke fishing outside of the river...

Actually given a lot of thought to downsizing from the 23' Seacraft to a 17 Stagepoint with a four stroke.

Not the only reason, but certainly one of the reasons why I've gone to a much smaller boat.

Yea a, puddle jumper!!

I have so many problems at home that I have not used my boat more then 6 times all year!! So it hasn't mattered.

But I like to fish the Vinyard, and thats about 40 miles, 11 mpg, round trip in the truck, Then for a day at sea I use about 18 gal gas. 18 + 4 = 22 gal X $2.34 = $51.48

we won't go into the rest of the stuff!!

I had a friend say to me, Must be nice to get all that free fish!!, It cost alot in the store!!

FREE gas, oil, cost of boat, repairs, new trailer, rods, reels, tackle, ect ect ect I must pay $500 a pound!!
