BB - The "Technical" term for that method of lure retreival is called: Backwinding ... It is a practice most commonly used by tourists with Honey Lamis and Penn 6500 reels on Nantucket. It is also somewhat frequently seen at the Ditch.

Now, one way to induce "Backwinding" amongst elite Tourist Anglers is to have a couple guys show up using conventional gear. With the conventional reels sitting on top of the rod, the method challenged tourist sees this and in order to prevent him or herself looking like a fool, rotates the typically Penn 6500 Spinning reel typically mounted on a Honey Lami rod 180 degrees and starts turning the handle in reverse. Sadly, this in fact seperates the unkowing tourist from the knowing tourist.

I always suspected you and Dave were closet something or the other, with the reels on top of the rod when people weren't looking.....oh the shame.

ALRIGHTY THEN! Captain Smarmy here, suave and ingratiating is my kind of talk. Since ingratiating means smooth as well that makes me a smarmy goog who is suave and smooth. Is that like James Bond? Shaken, not stirred.

Why even try.........

The Dog Blaster - that's too much! An award for who ever came up with that - maybe one of those pictures from the Victoria's Secret catalog that the Dog Blaster cuts out and puts in his books to "reward" the people who buy one.

yeah, repeat after me: you can't catch big fish on poppers (or bottle plugs), no one knows how to fish anymore, the cape sucks!!!

Steve.. that picture came to me on a post card yesterday... ad from dell.. with the caption,
"a little update never hurt anyone"...
with this thread, and the one "over there", and the "other" one.. plus I remembered a pic you showed me of a 19 year old Flaptail, with similar glasses, and a slightly smaller mop of hair, and I had to have a little fun....
BTW... were you "Long Hair"? .. if not, then who?... became a writer... hmmm...

And... ya can thank Slip for making it your avatar...
